Rose Milk Layer Cake


Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 8-inch round cake pans.
2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
3. In a separate bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs, one at a time, then add vanilla extract.
4. Combine rose syrup and milk. Alternately add flour mixture and milk mixture to the butter mixture, beginning and ending with the flour mixture. Add pink food coloring if desired.
5. Divide batter evenly between prepared pans and bake for 25-30 minutes, until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Cool in pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
6. For the frosting, beat butter until creamy. Gradually add powdered sugar, rose syrup, and milk, beating until smooth. Add pink food coloring if desired.
7. Place one cake layer on a serving plate, spread frosting on top, then place the second layer on top. Frost the top and sides of the cake.
