Red Velvet Cheesecake Cake

Red Velvet Cheesecake Cake – Thick layer of cheesecake, sandwiched between two moist layers of chocolate cake, then the whole cake is frosted with rich vanilla cream cheese frosting.

Ingredients

Cheesecake:

  • 2 packs cream cheese, room temp (8 oz each)
  • 2/3 cup granulated white sugar
  • Pinch of salt
  • 2 eggs large
  • 1/3 cup sour cream
  • 1/3 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Red Velvet Cake:

  • 2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated white sugar
  • 3 Tbsp cocoa powder unsweetened (not Dutch process)
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 eggs large
  • 1 1/2 cups vegetable or canola oil
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • Red food coloring
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tsp white vinegar

Cream Cheese Frosting:

  • 2 1/2 cup powdered sugar sifted lightly
  • Two 8 oz packages cream cheese, at room temperature
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter at room temperature
  • 1 Tbsp vanilla extract
