I buy foam sponges in packs, but not for washing dishes: I use them for other household purposes

I use a sponge and baking soda to get rid of odors in the refrigerator. The sponge needs to be dry, pour a large spoonful of soda on it and place it on a shelf, preferably against the back wall. In this place, the sponge will cope with both the smell and excess moisture.

Microwave

You need to wet the sponge thoroughly, drop some dishwashing detergent on it and put it in the microwave. Select the mode with maximum power, set the timer for 4 minutes.

As water and detergent evaporate, they soften the fat on the walls; after such preparation, it is enough to wipe the inside of the microwave and everything will be clean.

Indoor flowers

When replanting plants, I put a sponge at the bottom of the pot, and then drainage and soil. If I pour a lot of water into the pot, the sponge absorbs the excess and prevents it from flowing out of the pot.

If you water the flowers infrequently, the sponge will accumulate and then release moisture to the soil.
