Easy Cheese Stuffed Bread (Bazlama) in the Pan

    1. Prepare the Dough:
        • In a large mixing bowl, combine the yogurt, salt, and baking powder.

      • Gradually add the flour, one cup at a time, mixing until a soft, non-sticky dough forms. You may need to adjust the amount of flour depending on the consistency of your yogurt. Typically, 4.5 cups (about 550 g) of flour should be sufficient.
      • Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for a few minutes until smooth and elastic.

    1. Divide and Roll:
      • Divide the dough into equal-sized portions, about the size of a small ball. This recipe should yield around 8-10 pieces.
      • Roll each piece into a ball and then flatten into a small disk using a rolling pin or your hands.

  1. Stuff the Bread:
      • Place a generous amount of cheddar cheese (or your preferred cheese) in the center of each disk.
      • Fold the edges of the dough over the cheese and pinch to seal, forming a stuffed dough ball.
      • Gently flatten the stuffed ball again into a disk, ensuring the cheese remains sealed inside.

  2. Cook the Bread:
      • Heat a non-stick pan or skillet over medium heat. You can brush a small amount of butter onto the pan for added flavor.
      • Place the stuffed dough disks onto the heated pan.

    • Cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through. You can brush the tops with a little more butter if desired.
  3. Serve:
      • Once cooked, remove the bazlama from the pan and let them cool slightly before serving.

    • Enjoy them warm with your favorite dips or as a side to your meal.
