Ingredients
8 ounces elbow macaroni
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
2 cups milk
2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1 cup cooked seafood (shrimp, crab, or lobster)
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon paprika
Salt and pepper to taste
1/2 cup breadcrumbs (optional)
Directions
1. Start by cooking the macaroni just the way you like it, according to the package directions. Drain it and set it aside for later.
2. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Sprinkle in the flour, and give it a good stir, cooking for about a minute to get rid of any raw flour taste.
3. Slowly whisk in the milk, then keep stirring as it gently comes to a simmer and gets nice and thick.
4. Take the saucepan off the heat, and stir in the cheddar cheese until it melts into a smooth, creamy sauce.
5. Add your cooked macaroni to the cheese sauce along with the seafood, garlic powder, paprika, and a little salt and pepper. Mix everything together so the flavors combine.
6. If you love a little crunch, pour the mixture into a baking dish, sprinkle with breadcrumbs, and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20 to 25 minutes, until bubbly and golden on top. Serve it up hot and enjoy every bite!
