Ingredients:

1 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup granulated sugar

1/2 cup packed brown sugar

1 large egg

2 tsp vanilla extract

2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

1 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp baking powder

1/2 tsp salt

2 cups chocolate chips (semi-sweet or milk chocolate)

Directions:

First, let’s get the oven nice and warm by preheating it to 350°F (175°C). Lay a sheet of parchment paper on your baking sheet to prepare for those wonderful cookies to come. In a large mixing bowl, beat together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until they’re light and fluffy—this is where all that creamy sweetness comes from. Once that’s done, add in the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until they’re perfectly combined. Now, grab a separate bowl and whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Slowly incorporate this dry mixture into the butter mixture, mixing until it’s just combined. Toss in the chocolate chips and stir until they’re evenly spread throughout the dough. Scoop rounded tablespoons of dough onto your prepared baking sheet, making sure to give them about 2 inches of space to spread out. Pop them into the preheated oven and let them bake for about 10-12 minutes, just until the edges are lightly golden. Before indulging, allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely. Enjoy every bite!
