Ingredients
1 package of puff pastry
8 oz cream cheese, softened
1 egg yolk
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 egg (for egg wash)
Powdered sugar (for dusting)
Directions

1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C), so it’s nice and hot when your danish are ready to bake.
2. Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface and cut it into squares—whatever size feels just right to you.
3. In a medium bowl, mix together the softened cream cheese, sugar, egg yolk, and vanilla extract until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
4. Place a generous spoonful of the cream cheese filling in the center of each pastry square.
5. Gently fold the corners of the pastry over the filling and pinch them together so the yummy cheese stays put while baking.
6. Beat your egg for the egg wash and brush it over the tops of each danish to give them a lovely golden finish.
7. Slide your pastries onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 15-20 minutes, until they’re puffed up and perfectly golden brown.
8. Let your pastries cool for a few minutes, then dust them with powdered sugar for a sweet finishing touch. Enjoy warm, and watch them disappear!
