Pepper Steak and Rice

Pepper Steak and Rice

2

Ingredients

1 lb flank steak, sliced thinly

4

2 bell peppers, sliced (red and green)

1 onion, sliced

3 cloves garlic, minced

2 tablespoons soy sauce

1 tablespoon cornstarch

1 tablespoon vegetable oil

Salt and pepper to taste

Cooked rice, for serving

Directions

1. Start by marinating your sliced flank steak. In a bowl, toss the steak with soy sauce and cornstarch until it’s all coated, then let it sit for about 15 minutes. This helps tenderize the meat and gives it great flavor.

2. While the steak marinates, heat up the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

3. Add the marinated steak to the hot skillet. Let it cook until it’s nicely browned, then scoop it out and set aside for now.

4. In the same skillet, toss in your bell peppers, onion, and garlic. Stir-fry everything together until the veggies are just tender but still a bit crisp.

5. Return the cooked steak to the skillet. Give everything a good mix and let it cook for another couple of minutes, just to blend all the flavors together. Sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste.

6. Serve your pepper steak hot over a generous helping of cooked rice, and enjoy every bite.
