Ingredients
1 lb beef sirloin, cut into strips
1 onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
8 oz mushrooms, sliced
2 cups beef broth
1 cup sour cream
2 tbsp flour
2 tbsp butter
Salt and pepper to taste
Egg noodles or rice for serving
Directions
1. Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Toss in the onions and garlic, and let them cook until they’re nice and soft.
2. Add your beef strips to the skillet, cooking until they’re browned on all sides.
3. Stir in the mushrooms and let them cook until tender and full of flavor.
4. Sprinkle the flour over everything in the skillet. Give it a good stir so the flour is mixed in well.
5. Pour in the beef broth, bring it all to a gentle simmer, and let it cook for about 10 minutes so the sauce thickens and flavors mingle.
6. Turn the heat to low and gently stir in the sour cream, making sure it blends smoothly into the sauce.
7. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
8. Spoon your stroganoff over a bed of warm egg noodles or rice and enjoy every comforting bite.
