Ingredients
1 lb beef sirloin, thinly sliced
2 cloves garlic, minced
8 oz mushrooms, sliced
2 cups beef broth
1 cup sour cream
2 tbsp flour
2 tbsp butter
Salt and pepper to taste
Egg noodles or rice for serving
Directions
1. Start by melting the butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Once it’s nice and bubbly, toss in the onions and garlic. Let them cook, stirring occasionally, until everything is soft and fragrant.
2. Turn up the heat just a bit and add the beef. Cook, stirring, until it’s beautifully browned on all sides.
3. Next, add in the mushrooms. Sauté them with the beef until they’re soft and have released their juices.
4. Sprinkle the flour evenly over the mixture and stir well, making sure everything is coated.
5. Slowly pour in the beef broth, stirring constantly. Give it a few minutes until the sauce starts to thicken up.
6. Lower the heat and gently stir in the sour cream. Season with salt and pepper to suit your taste.
7. Spoon the creamy beef stroganoff over warm egg noodles or rice, and enjoy right away.
