Ingredients:

2 cups all-purpose flour,

1 1/2 cups granulated sugar,

1 cup unsalted butter, softened,

4 large eggs,

1 cup buttermilk,

1 teaspoon vanilla extract,

1 teaspoon baking powder,

1/2 teaspoon baking soda,

1/4 teaspoon salt

Directions:

1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a cake pan.

2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

3. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.

4. Mix in the vanilla extract.

5. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with buttermilk, starting and ending with flour. Mix until just combined.

7. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.

8. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

9. Allow to cool for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
