Ruth’s Grandma’s Pie Crust

Ingredients:

2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon salt

1 cup unsalted butter, chilled and cubed

6 to 8 tablespoons ice water

Directions:

In a large bowl, combine the flour and salt. Add the chilled butter and mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in the ice water, a tablespoon at a time, until the dough comes together. Divide the dough into two balls, flatten into disks, wrap in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 1 hour. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to fit your pie dish.
