1. Cook bacon

  • In a large skillet, cook chopped bacon until crisp. Remove with a slotted spoon and set aside. Drain excess grease if needed.

2. Cook beef mixture

  • In the same skillet, cook ground beef and onions over medium heat until browned.
  • Add garlic, salt, pepper, tomato paste, mustard, and Worcestershire sauce. Cook for 2–3 minutes.
  • Stir in cream cheese until melted and fully combined. Remove from heat.

3. Assemble the casserole

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Spread the beef mixture evenly into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
  • In a bowl, whisk together eggs and heavy cream. Stir in 1 cup of shredded cheese.
  • Pour the egg mixture over the beef. Top with remaining cheese and cooked bacon.

4. Bake

  • Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the top is golden and the center is set.

5. Serve

  • Let cool for 5 minutes before slicing. Garnish with chopped pickles, tomatoes, or shredded lettuce if desired.

Tips:

  • For extra flavor, mix in diced pickles or a splash of hot sauce to the beef layer.
  • Swap cheddar for pepper jack or mozzarella for a different twist.
  • This reheats well and makes a great meal prep option.
