For the Apple Filling:

  • 4 medium apples, peeled, cored, and diced
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

For the Taco Shells:

  • 8 small flour tortillas
  • 2 tbsp butter, melted
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon

For Topping:

  • Whipped cream or vanilla ice cream
  • Caramel sauce (optional)

  1. Make apple filling: In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add diced apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice. Cook, stirring occasionally, until apples are tender and caramelized, about 8-10 minutes. Set aside.
  2. Prepare taco shells: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Brush tortillas with melted butter. Mix sugar and cinnamon, then sprinkle over tortillas.
  3. Shape shells: Fold tortillas over the bars of an inverted muffin tin or over two oven-safe rods to create a taco shape. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until crispy and golden.
  4. Assemble tacos: Fill each taco shell with warm apple filling. Top with whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Drizzle with caramel sauce if desired.
  5. Serve immediately for a warm and delicious dessert.
