This Decadent Chocolate Fudge Pie is rich, indulgent, and ultra-satisfying—perfect for serious chocolate lovers. It features a velvety, almost truffle-like filling nestled inside a buttery, flaky crust. Served slightly warm or chilled, it’s the kind of dessert that turns an ordinary day into a celebration. Whether you dress it up with whipped cream or enjoy it plain, every bite is smooth, intense, and irresistibly fudgy.
Ingredients:

For the crust:
- 1 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
- ½ cup (1 stick) cold unsalted butter, cut into small cubes
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 3–5 tablespoons ice water
Alternatively, use a store-bought 9-inch pie crust.
For the filling:
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter
- 1 ½ cups semisweet or bittersweet chocolate chips
- 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
- ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 4 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
Instructions:

1. Prepare the crust
If making your own crust: In a large bowl, whisk the flour and salt. Cut in the cold butter with a pastry cutter or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add ice water one tablespoon at a time, mixing gently until the dough just comes together. Form into a disk, wrap in plastic, and chill for 30 minutes.
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
Roll out the chilled dough on a floured surface into a 12-inch circle. Fit it into a 9-inch pie dish, trim excess, and crimp the edges. Prick the bottom with a fork and pre-bake for 10 minutes. Let it cool slightly.
2. Make the chocolate filling
In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt the butter and chocolate chips together, stirring until smooth. Remove from heat and whisk in the sugar, cocoa powder, and salt.
Let the mixture cool for 5 minutes, then whisk in the eggs, one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract. Whisk until silky and glossy.
3. Assemble and bake
Pour the chocolate filling into the pre-baked pie crust and smooth the top. Bake for 35–40 minutes, or until the center is just set but still slightly wobbly. The edges should look firm and puffed.
Let cool at room temperature for 1 hour, then transfer to the refrigerator to chill for at least 2 hours for clean slicing.
4. Serve
Serve chilled or slightly warmed. Garnish with any of the following:
- Fresh whipped cream
- Chocolate shavings or curls
- Raspberries or sliced strawberries
- A drizzle of salted caramel or ganache
Storage:
Keep leftovers covered and refrigerated for up to 5 days. This pie also freezes well—wrap tightly and freeze for up to 1 month.
Notes:
- For an even deeper chocolate flavor, use a mix of bittersweet and semisweet chocolate.
- Want to make it gluten-free? Use a gluten-free pie crust or almond flour crust instead.
Decadent Chocolate Fudge Pie is that perfect middle ground between a brownie, a mousse, and a truffle—all wrapped in a crust. Rich and smooth with a slightly crackled top, it’s a show-stopping dessert that never fails to impress.
