Ingredients:

For the dough:

  • 3 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 packet (2 ¼ teaspoons) active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup warm milk (110°F / 43°C)
  • ⅓ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs

For the filling:

  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup chopped toasted pecans
  • ½ cup caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)

For the caramel glaze:

  • ½ cup caramel sauce
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup powdered sugar (optional, for thicker glaze)

Instructions:

1. Prepare the dough

In a large bowl, mix 2 cups flour, sugar, yeast, and salt. Add warm milk, melted butter, and eggs; beat on medium speed until combined. Gradually add remaining flour, ½ cup at a time, until a soft dough forms.

Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 6–8 minutes until smooth and elastic.

Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for 1–1.5 hours, or until doubled in size.

2. Prepare the filling

Mix softened butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon in a bowl.

3. Roll and fill

Roll the dough into a 16×12-inch rectangle. Spread the cinnamon sugar butter evenly over the dough. Drizzle caramel sauce over the butter, then sprinkle chopped toasted pecans evenly.

4. Form the rolls

Starting from a long edge, tightly roll up the dough into a log. Cut into 12 equal slices.

Place the rolls cut-side up in a greased 9×13-inch baking pan. Cover and let rise for 30–45 minutes until puffy.

5. Bake

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake rolls for 25–30 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through.

6. Make the caramel glaze

While the rolls bake, heat caramel sauce, butter, and salt in a small saucepan over low heat until melted and smooth. Stir in powdered sugar if you want a thicker glaze.

7. Glaze and serve

Drizzle the warm caramel glaze over the rolls right after baking. Serve warm.


Tips:

  • Toast pecans in a dry skillet for 5 minutes to enhance their flavor before adding to the filling.
  • For extra gooeyness, add more caramel sauce before baking or as a drizzle at serving.
  • These rolls freeze well; reheat gently before serving.
