Orange Cranberry Cookies Recipe

Zesty orange and tart cranberries come together in these soft, chewy cookies, perfect for snacking or sharing during the holidays or any time you want a burst of fresh flavor.


Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup (150g) granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon fresh orange zest
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups (190g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup dried cranberries
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Prep the dough:
    Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the egg, orange zest, and vanilla.
  2. Mix dry ingredients:
    In a separate bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add to the wet ingredients until just combined.
  3. Add cranberries and nuts:
    Fold in dried cranberries and nuts if using.
  4. Bake:
    Drop tablespoon-sized dough balls onto a lined baking sheet. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 10–12 minutes or until edges are lightly golden.
  5. Cool and enjoy:
    Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

These cookies offer a lovely balance of bright citrus and chewy berries, with an optional nutty crunch to round out the flavor. Great for gifting or keeping all to yourself!
